JJ specializes in advising publicly listed companies and private companies pursuing stock exchange listings. He has several years of experience as a practicing lawyer and capital markets professional. His primary focus is to advise companies as they pursue going public on a Canadian stock exchange and to ensure an efficient and expedient go-public and post-listing experience. JJ has helped guide companies in various industries, including technology, life sciences, mining, oil and gas, gaming, e-sports and investment companies.
Outside of work, JJ spends most of his time trying to keep up with his young son while occasionally getting in a round of golf or following hockey, football or baseball. He has been a guest lecturer at UBC Law with respect to TSX Venture Exchange policies and related public company matters.
Prior to joining DuMoulin Black in 2021, JJ worked as a senior manager with the Vancouver office of the TSX Venture Exchange. He managed many transactions as part of their listed issuer services team, where he helped issuers across various industries with listings matters. He was also a member of the TSXV’s listings committee. JJ has concentrated his legal career on the securities and capital markets industry, practicing in both B.C. and Alberta with corporate, securities and capital markets practice groups.
