JJ specializes in advising publicly listed companies and private companies pursuing stock exchange listings. He has several years of experience as a capital markets professional and practicing lawyer with recognized capital markets practice groups in both Vancouver and Calgary. His primary focus is to advise companies as they pursue going public on a Canadian stock exchange and to ensure an efficient and expedient go-public process and post-listing experience. JJ has helped guide companies in various industries, including technology, life sciences, mining, oil and gas, gaming, e-sports and investment companies.
Outside of work, JJ spends most of his time with his young sons while occasionally getting in a round of golf or following hockey, football or baseball.
Prior to joining DuMoulin Black as a Listings Counsel, JJ worked as a Senior Listings Manager with the TSX Venture Exchange (Vancouver). He managed many transactions as part of their listed issuer services team, where he helped issuers across various industries with the go-public process and various other listings matters.
JJ was a member of the TSXV’s Executive Listing Committee during his time there and has been a guest lecturer at UBC Law with respect to TSXV policies and related public company matters. He is currently a member of the TSXV’s Local Advisory Committee (Vancouver) and the Canadian Bar Association.
