Summer Student Program
We look for exceptional candidates to join us each summer. Generally, we fill one or two summer student positions each year. Through our program, we are determined that our chosen summer student(s) will join us through their articles, become an associate and one day, join the partnership.
During your summer with us, you will be supported by a partner, who will be your principal. Your principal will be responsible for ensuring you receive appropriate training and feedback, and that you are involved in a broad range of interesting and challenging work. We have an exceptional Student Committee, consisting of senior associates and two partners. The committee will select one of our senior associates to be your mentor. Your mentor will provide guidance, act as a support system, and show you what our Firm business and culture is all about!

Compensation
We offer our students top Vancouver market compensation. In addition, we contribute $6,500.00 towards 3rd-year tuition to students who return to DuMoulin Black for articling.

We adhere to the Vancouver Bar Association recruitment guidelines and timelines for hiring. Applications should include a brief cover letter, a resume and copies of both undergraduate and law school transcripts in a single PDF file, sent to the attention of Jeannette Damaso, People and Culture Specialist, by email (jdamaso@dumoulinblack.com). Reference letters are welcomed but not necessary.
Articled Student Program
Our summer student program supports our process of hiring process for our articled students. We are dedicated to elevating, teaching, and mentoring our summer students, in order to hire those students back for their articling term. Our intention is to have a student go through both programs and end their articles at our Firm with a first-year associate job offer.
