After more than three decades of dedicated service we are bidding farewell to Doug Seppala who has been appointed to the honorable role of Commissioner at the BC Securities Commission.
Doug’s remarkable career with DuMoulin Black has left a permanent mark on our firm and the broader legal community. Doug joined the firm in 1990, quickly earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike for his expertise, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
From 2018 to 2019, Doug served as our managing partner, guiding the firm through a period of growth and transition. After retiring from the partnership in 2019, Doug continued to contribute to the firm's success as special counsel, offering invaluable expertise as a trusted advisor to his clients. His ability to navigate intricate legal matters and offer strategic advice made him an indispensable asset to both the firm and our clients.
Doug’s extensive legal career also extended beyond the firm. He has held leadership roles as an officer or director of numerous public and private companies, further solidifying his reputation as a trusted advisor in corporate governance and special committee matters.
While we will certainly miss Doug's insight and expertise at DuMoulin Black LLP, this new role marks an exciting chapter in Doug's professional journey and we have no doubt that his wisdom and leadership will continue to benefit the broader legal and business community.
